The Storm That Made It Onto National News,

which is saying something, because usually the rest of the world doesn't care what happens here. We had winds up to 125 mph here, but we only lost two trees in our forest, and neither of them fell onto a building. Sunday night was the worst night - we had bags packed and ready by the front door in case we had to evacuate. (What you grab first says a lot about you - I took a pair of socks and my journal, and then wondered if I should bring my SAT scores, even though they were also online.) There was no power in our house for approximately 39.5 hours - that's 6.5 hours longer than last time. We missed three days of school but now we're back into the routine. Thank you for all of your prayers.
